Multibanco facilitates seamless payments via ATMs or online banking, while MB WAY provides a fast and convenient mobile payment solution tailored to modern consumer needs. 

Multibanco accounts for over 20% of online sales and has 23 million cards in circulation—more than double Portugal’s population of 10 million. MB WAY, supported by 28 banks, covers 95% of the Portuguese banking market. Today, MB WAY handles 45% of the country’s online transactions, with over 3.5 million users and nearly 9 million monthly purchases processed.

MB WAY is particularly popular among younger consumers. According to SIBS Analytics, 57% of young adults use MB WAY for eCommerce purchases, further solidifying its role in driving digital payments in Portugal.
