CEO & Founder, SOUP digital agency
Having scaled and sold three businesses, Amanda set up a Sheffield-based digital marketing agency, SOUP, back in 2018. Specialising in performance marketing for e-commerce brands, it is now regarded as one of the UK’s most exciting agencies; being shortlisted for ‘Marketing Agency of the Year’ in The Drum Awards for Marketing 2021 and achieving ‘Preferred Marketing Partner’ status from Facebook. Amanda’s innovation and adaptability has shone through during the Covid-19 pandemic, with SOUP entering lockdown as a team of five team and emerging 14 months later with 27 employees. Her business acumen, ability to predict consumer trends and willingness to lean into the digital landscape has seen the agency’s revenue grow by 380% in the past 12 months. Not only set on her own success, Amanda founded The E-Com Growth Hub as a must-have tool for small business owners, helping them to take control of their brand and marketing online. Since launching, The Hub – which includes a digital marketing course, expert troubleshooting calls and group coaching with Amanda – has grown to over 600 members and in the last year alone has helped businesses generate over £15 million in online sales. Sharing business advice and inspiration is something that goes beyond The E-Com Growth Hub. Amanda has amassed over 18,000 followers on Instagram sharing daily business tips and tricks; ranging from boosting your confidence, battling imposter syndrome, finding the right work-life blend, and protecting your mental health. Her popular podcast has also welcomed some brilliant business names including the likes of Brie Read, Snag Tights; Lucy Arnold, Lucy Locket Loves; Steph Douglas, Don’t Buy Her Flowers; and Ella Rauen-Prestes, Fitbakes, to name a few. With over 15 years’ experience in business, Amanda uses her podcast to share the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. As well as her successes, she’s also experienced bankruptcy and talks openly about the ‘wilderness years’ that followed. Now she is on a mission to remove the taboos around what is often seen as business failure, encouraging more people to embrace their business journey and boost their resilience to face the inevitable challenges that come with running a business. Part of this, she says, is ditching the concept of Work/Life Balance and instead embracing the Work Life Blend. Rather than working 9-5 and living 5-9, Amanda is on a mission to help us find a healthier, more balanced approach that integrates work into how we live. She’s leading by example, not only juggling various businesses and projects, but also managing her own dream home renovation with husband, Steve. She has also launched a brand new Work Life Blend podcast dedicated to stories from inspirational leaders who, too, have created a life they love. Amanda’s empowering narrative around thriving after failure and finding your true purpose sees her regularly invited to events as a key note speaker and expert panellist. She works with the likes of General Assembly, Natwest and Top Drawer, and she has been appointed as an official trainer for the UK’s She Means Business Campaign launched by Facebook.
