Meet Our Exhibitors: EcomVA's CEO and Founder Harshal Shah

As we close on this year’s eCommerce Expo and Technology for Marketing, Harshal Shah, CEO and Founder of virtual assistant service ECOMVA talks about the trends he found most interesting during the show and his best pieces of advice as we head on into peak season.

What industry trends excited you the most at this year’s eCommerce Expo and Technology for Marketing?

For EComVA, it was very exciting to see several key trends that are shaping the future of eCommerce: including the rise of AI, headless commerce, and advanced data analytics. These innovations are enhancing efficiency and driving personalisation across the eCommerce sector. As leaders in eCommerce staffing and growth solutions, we aim to leverage these trends to push businesses to new heights.

What are the biggest challenges facing eCommerce retailers heading into Q4 and peak season?

As an agency, we consistently prepare our clients—many of whom are also retailers—for the challenges of Q4 and peak season. Security is critical; it builds trust and ensures customers feel confident returning to shop again. Transparency is equally important—constant shipping updates keep customers informed, enhancing their overall experience.

One of the most significant challenges is maintaining availability for customer support during these busy periods. By focusing on key areas such as automation, customer retention, security, constant communication, and support availability, eCommerce businesses can significantly reduce the typical hurdles of Q4.

What is most exciting to you about the eCommerce and digital marketing industry right now?

One of the most exciting developments is the industry’s shift towards targeting Gen-Z consumers. As a growth-focused agency, we see tremendous opportunities in understanding the unique shopping behaviours of Gen-Z, while simultaneously adapting to the evolving millennial mindset. The real challenge—and opportunity—lies in how the industry adapts to these new generations of decision-makers.

This marketing revolution presents a dynamic future for eCommerce, where innovation is essential to engage and meet their needs. Remember, these generations won’t respond to ads alone—they demand personalised, meaningful interactions.

Why is it important to bring the industry together at events like eCommerce Expo and Technology for Marketing?

Bringing the industry together at events like this is essential for sharing insights, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technology, and exploring the latest trends and strategies that can elevate businesses. At ECOMVA, we’ve formed over 20 strategic product partnerships to ensure our clients’ growth remains uninterrupted. This collaborative environment is where new ideas are exchanged, and we continue to drive value for our clients.

What’s the best piece of advice you would give to new people joining the industry?

For newcomers, my best advice is to prioritise customer experience by leveraging customer data and personalising interactions in ways that resonate. Social media should be taken seriously for sustainable brand building. Additionally, it's crucial to understand the next generation of customers. Also, focus on building trust, as they will be highly quality-conscious and loyal.
