It is a specialised government body with responsibility for negotiating international trade policy, supporting business, as well as delivering an outward-looking trade diplomacy strategy. 

The Department’s E-Exporting Programme empowers British companies to place an international online strategy at the heart of their business. Its primary objective is to support companies to increase their growth through exports via online channels. The Programme provides a range of free services including support from Ecommerce Advisors who provide tailored one-to-one advice to companies on their online export plans and on how to build a successful cross-border ecommerce strategy.
