Ogone Payment Services to Integrate with Magento eCommerce Platform Official Module Provides Integration with One of the Leading European Payment Services

Los Angeles, CA and London, United Kingdom, 10 December 2009: The Magento team, creators of the world’s fastest growing eCommerce platform, and Ogone, a leading European Payments Service today announce official integration of Ogone payment processing with the Magento eCommerce platform. Starting immediately, operators of Magento online shops can use the payment solutions offered by international payment service provider Ogone.

The integration is achieved via an add-on extension to the Magento software which was developed jointly by Varien and Ogone. The module is available to merchants free of charge at http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/2212/official-ogone-extension. Compatible with all versions of Magento, the plug-in is quick and easy to install and requires no special knowledge outside of general Magento administration skills. Currently, Magento is the platform of choice for over 30,000 online retailers and is tremendously popular within European markets.

With Ogone’s payment solutions, Magento retailers can utilize all of the international and local payment procedures that are commonplace in major European markets. Ogone works with more than one hundred acquirers. The company’s well-engineered fraud-detection procedures make it possible for online retailers to verify the authenticity of buyers and set various parameters to configure the level of risk they are willing to accept during their transactions. “Our high standards of quality and the wide range of payment options were key criteria for our collaboration with Ogone,” explains Roy Rubin, CEO of Varien. “This functionality makes our platform even more attractive for European retailers.”
