Prescriptions Direct Go Live With New Fulfilment And Back Office Systems Through Exact Abacus

Preston based Exact Abacus have launched a new back office system and the fulfilment services for Buckinghamshire based online Ophthalmology retailer Prescriptions Direct.
Prescriptions Direct is one of the leading suppliers of prescription and non-prescription glasses and sunglasses online, featuring the largest collection of designer and non-designer frames in the UK. As they are an online retailer, with the benefits of having experienced opticians on hand but without the high overheads, they are able to offer the same level of service for around 80% less cost to the purchaser.
Exact Abacus were initially engaged to handle the response to a promotion between Prescriptions Direct and Group On. Exact were responsible for the fulfilment, purchase order management and stock control systems for this campaign, with an excellent outcome.
Following on from the success of this work, Exact were commissioned to develop Prescriptions new back office management system, which will integrate with a Magento platform, via their 3ex.net software; this includes their order processing and their purchase proposal system. The purchase proposal system orchestrates automated purchasing, which in turn will speed up product sourcing as some products are sourced from abroad, with a view to maximising response time.
In addition to the 3ex.net back office software, Prescriptions Direct also selected Exact Abacus to manage all of their fulfilment services from Exact’s warehouse facility at their head office in Preston.
Exact also managed Royal Mail’s integration with Prescriptions Direct, providing a 1st class special delivery and a tracking delivery service to its users.
Exact will be working on the back office software with 3ex.net and Prescriptions Direct on their next campaign phase, which is due to start with Prescription Glasses.
